Sunday 30th AugustSt Mary’s Outdoor All-Age Service at 4pm on the lawn.

We’re making the most of the possibilities for meeting together at safe distance which is more achievable outside where we can gather in larger numbers. Please join us at 4pm to talk and share our picnics before a short service. We may not be able to sing but we will be treated to the beautiful voice of Shannon who has made a recording for our worship. The marquee will be set up (please let Steve know if you can help that morning) and there will be tables and chairs or rugs. Please dress for the weather that day (right now is forecast as sunny and breezy) and don’t forget your picnic! If you are able to offer a lift within the safety guidelines – both wearing masks, guest sitting diagonally at the rear, no physical assistance for getting in and out) please let Charles Burge know as he is trying to ensure all who want to join us may be able to so.

Ongoing Worship at St Mary’s

It was so good to meet up on August 3rd and we want to keep you informed that we are considering further options for potentially meeting for worship inside the church and via Zoom. Safety and well-being are highly important and within the guidelines we hope to be able to offer some mid-week worship and will let you know in the first week of September. To that end we are doing a “Practice Eucharist” on Wednesday 2nd September at 10am in the main church. If you would like to be part of that as we assess together what is practicable please contact Rev Gill as numbers will be limited and face coverings will have to be worn.

Tadley Autumn Arts at St Mary’s

We will soon have details of how to enter artwork into the exhibition we are hosting. Please let others know of this event 26-31October.

Advance notices

St Mary’s APCM meeting will take place on Sunday 20th September via Zoom after the service at 11.15 with coffee!

Wednesday August 19th Events at Twenty-Three

The Bible Society film crew will be at St Mary’s this Wednesday! The team is  shooting a short film about Garden Twenty-Three on Wednesday 19th August and will be interviewing some of us from noon.

It will be good to have as many of us there as possible of all ages as the Bible Society have chosen to use our very own Psalm 23 inspired garden to show other churches in the UK what’s possible! There will be activities for all ages between 3:30-5pm at the garden including a wildflower treasure hunt, sheep stone painting, and kite-making and flying.

In the evening from 8pm there is an opportunity to walk the labyrinth by candlelight. If you haven’t come yet, please do and also invite others!

Weekly Email – 26 July 2020

Dear Church Family,
It was so very good to see many of your faces after a long while on Wednesday evening at ‘Twenty-Three’ as we walked the labyrinth for the very first time. We’ll have some photos to show as we begin worship together. If you didn’t feel able to come or just couldn’t, there are other opportunities and you can always walk it alone any time at all. If you’d like some guidance about doing so please contact me as I have some I can send.
Next Saturday morning, August 1st, we have Casa Artis at Twenty-Three from 9am till noon. There will be some organised creative activities alongside lots of free time to work on personal projects and paint and draw in response to the garden. All welcome from secondary age up.
Save your tin cans please for a community wind chime project on Wednesday 19th August in the afternoon, where we will do other activities for all ages and walk the labyrinth. If not then, come and walk by candlelight, gathering from 8.30, beginning to walk after 9pm.
If you know of a group in our community, friends, neighbours, social organisation, etc. please encourage them to walk the labyrinth and some of us can lead in a safe way for all.
Here is the link for worship and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
With every blessing for the coming week. Steve and I are away and the Church Wardens, Charles Burge and Marilyn Lewis are on hand, so please do not hesitate to contact them.
Rev’d Gill
