A message from Rev Gill:

Dear church family,

If not this week please ask for help, and we’ll keep trying! You can join by pc, tablet, mobile phone or landline and all the details are below. You don’t have to let us see you, so you can join in your pj’s or whilst you eat breakfast! Here are the ways to join and we’ll be there from 10am helping you all get in and we aim to start at 10.30 for about 25 minutes and then will have coffee!

Other news: Our Psalm inspired Garden Labyrinth, ‘Twenty Three’ is growing wonderfully after all the rain and we have at least 3 wildflowers budding with colour. I wonder if you know what they are from my sketches? In early July we plan to offer a series of activities based on Twenty Three which will lead up to the actual walking of the labyrinth later in the month in a prayerful way. We have some tree stump ‘seats’ which are perfect for socially distanced seating and a Tadley mosaic artist is working with us so as many as wish can lay a mosaic design on the surface. We’ll have “one household-at-a-time” as we did for the planting and bird scarers so please let me know if you are interested in being part of this. https://www.facebook.com/PsalmTwentyThreeGarden/

Tadley and Baughurst Scarecrow Trail: We’re going on a bug hunt:

St Mary’s is participating in this community adventure as we did last year. Since finding stag beetle larvae in the soil at Twenty Three we decided to create a giant male stag beetle as part of the trail. Andrew and Charles have been creating it and now are ready for socially distanced papier-mache help! It is rather large so, so many gluey hands are needed! We will announce some slots for sign-up from next week.

St Mary’s opening for private prayer:

As you’ll be aware, from this week the government has permitted churches to open for this purpose and we hope to do so too in early July. Since safety is top priority we are taking our time to ensure we can fulfil all the requirements. Initially it will be for just two days a week and we’ll let you know once things have taken shape. This week we have had an electrician on the premises doing some electrical work in anticipation of the remodelling work beginning at a later date.

Casa Artis on Zoom This is on Saturday 4th July, details to follow. https://www.facebook.com/Casa-Artis-2396124470634282/

With every blessing,
Rev Gill
