Weekly Notices 25 October 2020

Good morning and welcome to our Worship on this Bible Sunday.

From Rev. Gill

For those of you who were in our Zoom service last week, I apologise once again for the incident that occurred. If you find yourself troubled by it please do contact me or Chris Gillings to talk things through. In light of the occurrence we are putting in further layers of security so you will only hear of the Zoom connection via email. It will no longer be on our website. However, please do continue to use the website as much as possible because it is a primary source of up to date information.

Both Charles and I have Zoom accounts and the details for this Sunday’s service is different and will change when Charles is hosting. The next time I host the details will change initially then remain the same. I hope this is clear and assures you of our care in this matter. If you know of others who would like to join any of our services please direct them to me, Charles, Peter or Steve to get the access, that way we can remain open and invitational – and safe.

Pumpkins are available for a donation on Monday morning between 10-11 plus a guide to carving. Return the pumpkin on Wednesday between 3-4pm then come back to do the candle-lit Walk between 6-7pm. This is all socially distanced and a good way to share with our community and raise funds for mental health provision.

Memorial Service Sunday 1st November at 4pm in church

This is a quiet and reflective service for remembering loved ones. Please let Gill know if you intend to come.

Living Word and Compline begin on Wednesday 4th November, Zoom details to follow.

From Charles Lewis

Remembrance Sunday – This year Remembrance Sunday falls on 8 November and, as everywhere else in the country, we have had to make changes to our usual Remembrance Sunday arrangements.  There will be NO service at Baughurst War Memorial at 11.00 this year so we will be holding a service of Remembrance in St Mary’s Church start at 10.30.

The service will also be broadcast over Zoom and details will be sent out via email nearer the time.

Church of England guidance allows a maximum number of people in a church building up to the number that can be accommodated with social distancing rules adhered too (i.e. 2 metres (6 feet) between people and compulsory face coverings).  However, people must not mingle in groups of more than six unless they are from the same household or support bubble.

If you would like to attend in person, in Church please let me know by telephoning on 01256 882537 by no later than midday on Friday,            6 November.  You will need to announce  your name before being connected.

I look forward to seeing you in Church for our first “in person” Sunday Service.
